Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Gastroesophageal reflux, also called “acid reflux,” is a condition when stomach contents and acid flow back to the esophagus, causing unpleasant sensations. Classic symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease are heartburn and regurgitation. The diagnosis is made clinically. Usually, mild symptoms relieve lifestyle and dietary modifications. Moderate and severe these should be treated with medications.

Spider veins (telangiectasias)

Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are small, damaged, superficial and visible blood vessels under your skin. Generally, spider veins are simply an aesthetic issue and couldn’t lead to health impairment. Yet, if spider veins coexist with CVI, the complications could be very severe: sores, skin ulcers, and thromboembolism. If you notice spider veins, talk to a healthcare provider to exclude CVI.

Over-the-Counter Medications

Over-the-Counter Medications, or OTCs, are drugs that you can buy without a doctor’s prescription. You usually can buy it from local grocery or drug stores. Generally, OTCs are safe and effective for public use. Before using the OTC medications, you should always read the Drug Facts label. The most common complaints that OTCs treat are pain, cold and flu, allergies, indigestion and heartburn.
